Upcoming speaking engagements

A few upcoming things:

  • April 13 - New England C# User Group, New Hampshire - "ADO.NET 2.0 Enhancements for SQL Server 2005".
    • This talk deals with MARS, Query Notifications, caching enhancements, connection strings, and other good stuff.
  • May 6-7 - Code Camp 5, Massachusetts - "Data for Developers", "Modeling and Querying Graphs and Hierarchies in SQL Server Databases".
    • The Data for Developers talk is intended to help developers who understand basic SQL syntax get to the next level. Stress is on set-based thinking and dealing with constructs such as grouping, subqueries, etc.
    • The hierarchies and graphs talk is a new one that I haven't done before.  I'll be touching on adjacency lists, materialized and enumerated paths, fixed depth models, nested sets, and nested intervals.  Should be fun!
  • May 9-11 - DevTeach, Montreal - "Data for Developers", "An Overview of SQL Server 2005 Transact-SQL Enhancements".
    • Already described Data for Developers (Code Camp 5 will be my practice session for delivery at DevTeach).
    • The T-SQL talk has everything you'd expect from such a talk: windowing functions, error handling, relational operators, CTEs, PIVOT/UNPIVOT, MAX datatypes... I think I cover pretty much everything new in T-SQL, albiet lightly, considering that it's a 75-minute talk!
By the way, a note on DevTeach -- this is a great conference in a wonderful city (Montreal).  I highly recommend attending if you have some pre-TechEd training budget!
