Ugh. I've never been much of one for saying "enough of this

| Required
to Write Articles? |
Dev |
I hate companies that do that because writing should come
from self-motivation and desire to share and communicate. Forcing people to
write makes the effort work, which makes it "fun" to "avoid doing/" Yeah, its
great for the company and I'd love land a full-time technical writing gig, but
making it part of the average IT professionals job strikes me as demotivating. |

I agree, I'd love to see more Women in IT for a lot of

Good post, but I loved this comment from Marc LeFleur: They
seem simple if you have been pulling DBA duty for years, but for the occasional
DBA they can lead to spaghetti faster than an Italian chef on meth.

Anderson's interview on SQL Server Yukon: Some clarifications |
WILY |
Okay, so the big point here for me is, unlike what I though
and said in the past, XML type is not based on the CLR at all. Fine, and now
that Michael has pointed out how they did this internally, it makes sense that
its not. I really like the fact that I can mix my XML and relational data with
XQuery in Yukon. |

I think this confirms some of my ideas about how XML will
be stored in Yukon. SQL Server's strength is relational data, so it makes sense
to make use of that strength when it comes to XML. Yep, same for me. |

Lou makes some really good points, but I really like this
one: So the XML datatype in Yukon, which is awesome, is one tool in the
toolkit, but in my mind does not reduce or eliminate the need for middle-tier
applications to do their fair share of the heavy lifting. |
