Comments back off

I'll be offline for a couple of days. So this blog doesn't get abused, I've had to turn comments off. I wish that weren't the case, but...

Figurine

Well the wrong kind of people don't want you to change
They want you to stay the same
They don't want you to be free
They want you to watch TV.

Those lyrics come from the song "figurine" that Warren Zevon wrote back around 1996. That song -- at least as of as of late -- has been on mind a lot. Yeah, there's stuff up. Mostly up in air. But for me, its huge, its scary, its exciting and its long time goal finally that's almost in my grasp. Weird thing is, its taken so long that now I might be faced with too much of great thing all at once. Not much else to say at the moment... but feel free to speculate :)

At the intersection of .Text and InfoPath…
…you'll find this spiffy Form called SimpleBlogger that lets you compose posts for .Text using InfoPath. That really appeals to me for two reasons: it means I can compose posts with being connected to any network and it’s a good example of what you can do with InfoPath when you put your mind down to it. Why is that important? I've long be searching for an example that shows InfoPath conversing directly with a Web Service rather than going through SharePoint to do meaningful (well at least non-trivial) work. Now, I have one.
Thanks to Brian Johnson for the pointer on this.
