For those of you after some amazing IO performance you may want to look at the iRam from Gigabyte. This is a board that plugs into a SATA socket into which you can slot some RAM. This then acts as a RAM drive. The iRam has 4 memory slots so can have a max storage of 4Gb. The memory is backed up by a battery so you can turn your PC off (although not sure how long for).
